Side Bearings

Left and right bearings that carry the ends of the torsion pole.

What it does

The side bearings sit at either end of the torsion pole and let it turn under load. They are handed, so a left and a right are not the same part.

Signs it needs replacing

  • Squeal or grinding from the ends of the pole
  • Play in the pole at one end
  • Rust staining below the bearing

Fitting notes

Replaced in pairs. One worn bearing throws the pole slightly out of line and the other follows soon after.
