Eazy Lift Garage Door Motors
Two motors, both designed and built by us, both NRCS certified. The Mark II for sectional doors, the Roller Door Motor for roller doors. Battery backup and manual override are standard on both.
The Eazy Lift Mark II is our own sectional garage door motor, built at our Centurion factory. It has a universal receiver, so any remote can be programmed in, and a built in battery backup. For roller doors we fit the side mounted Eazy Lift Roller Door Motor instead. Both carry a one year guarantee.

For sectional doors
Eazy Lift Mark II
Our own sectional motor, carried for years and now in its second generation. It mounts to the ceiling and drives the door along a rail. It fits aluminium and steel sectional doors, whether we built them or not.
- Universal receiver, so any remote can be programmed in
- Built in battery backup for load shedding and outages
- Manual override to move the door by hand
- Soft start and stop, obstruction sensing, LED courtesy light
- One year guarantee, NRCS certified
You do not have to buy our remotes
The Mark II has a universal receiver. Whatever remotes you already own can be programmed into it, so replacing a motor does not mean replacing every handset in the house. That was a design decision, not an accident, and it is the single most useful thing about this motor.
External receivers can also be added later, so a keypad or a second point of control does not mean changing the motor.
For roller doors
Eazy Lift Roller Door Motor
Our side fitted motor. It mounts to the side of the roller drum rather than overhead, and it is the only side fit motor we carry. It drives roller doors only and will not run a sectional door.
- Side fitted to the drum, not to the ceiling
- Roller doors only, not sectional
- Same battery backup and manual override as the Mark II
- Soft start and stop, obstruction sensing, LED courtesy light
- One year guarantee, NRCS certified
Which garage door motor do I need?
If you know how your door opens, you know which motor it takes.
| Your door | How it opens | Motor |
|---|---|---|
| Sectional | Panels hinged together, folding up and back along a ceiling rail | Eazy Lift Mark II |
| Roller | A single curtain rolling onto a drum above the opening | Eazy Lift Roller Door Motor |
| Aluminium or steel | Material makes no difference. Both our aluminium and steel ranges are sectional | Eazy Lift Mark II |
| Single or double | Size does not change the model. The motor is specified for the weight of the door | Either, matched to the door |
| An existing door | We automate doors we did not build, and replace failed motors of other brands | Whichever suits the door |
Standard on every Eazy Lift motor
These are not optional extras or an upgraded model. Every motor that leaves the factory has them.
The door keeps working through a power outage. In South Africa we do not take electricity for granted.
Disengage the motor and move the door by hand when you need to.
The motor detects resistance in the door's path and stops rather than pushing through it.
The door eases into motion and eases out of it, which takes load off the door and the motor.
Worth having when the garage shares a wall with a bedroom.
Comes on with the door and goes off on its own.
Extend the range or add a second point of control without changing the motor.
On the motor, from the factory that built it.
Every motor and its electronics assessed against the compulsory South African standard.
Certified
NRCS certified garage door motors
Every motor that leaves our factory is certified by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications. The certificate is issued only after the motor and its electronics have been through testing and assessment against the standard set for the South African market.
It is a regulatory requirement rather than a marketing badge, which is exactly why it is worth asking any supplier for. Simplicity, robustness, durability, low maintenance and reliability are what we designed the Eazy Lift range around, and the certification is the check on that.
Garage door motor questions
Can you automate my existing garage door?
Yes. We automate doors we did not build. The door needs to be running properly first, so if it is heavy, noisy or out of balance the service comes before the motor. A door that fights the motor will kill it.
Do I have to buy your remotes?
No. The Eazy Lift Mark II has a universal receiver, so remotes you already own can be programmed in. That is a deliberate design decision, not a limitation we tolerate.
What happens to my garage door during a power cut?
The motor runs off its built in battery backup. If the battery is flat, the manual override lets you disengage the motor and move the door by hand. Both are standard on both motors.
Do you have a centre mounted roll up motor?
No. We carry two motors, the Eazy Lift Mark II for sectional doors and the side fitted Eazy Lift Roller Door Motor for roller doors. Anything listing a third is out of date.
Are your garage door motors certified?
Yes. Every Eazy Lift motor is NRCS certified, which means the motor and its electronics have been tested and assessed against the compulsory South African standard before the certificate is issued.
How long does a garage door motor last?
Years, with minimal maintenance, provided the door itself is serviced. Most motor failures we are called out to are a symptom of a door that was never serviced rather than a fault in the motor.
Can I add a keypad or extra remotes later?
Yes. External receivers can be added to either motor, so you can extend the range or add a second point of control without changing the motor.
My motor has failed. Can you repair it?
Often, yes, including replacing a failed battery backup. We repair motors of other brands too. See repairs and servicing, or call your nearest branch.
