Centre Bearing

Supports the torsion pole at its midpoint on wider openings.

What it does

All Sectional door have a centre bearing to support the spring load and to hold the tension of the springs.

Signs it needs replacing

  • Pole sag or wobble at the middle of the opening
  • A rhythmic knock as the door travels
  • Rust or scoring on the pole where the bearing sits

Fitting notes

Fitted with the torsion pole. A failed centre bearing will score the pole, so it is worth checking whenever the springs are serviced.
