Garage Door Repairs & Servicing
Keeping your garage door operating safely, smoothly and reliably.
Qualified technicians across five branches, repairing and servicing every make of garage door, not only the ones we built.
Garage door repairs and servicing are handled by Roos technicians from all five branches, on any brand of door. We replace springs, cables, rollers, hinges, tracks, motors and remotes, and a general service covers balance, safety and lubrication. Serviced once a year, a set of springs lasts up to ten years.

How a garage door service or repair works
Four steps from the call to the safety check. Nothing is replaced without being shown to you first.
Book your service
Choose a time that suits you. Your nearest branch confirms the booking and the technician.
Technician visit
The technician arrives on time and fully equipped, with the common wear parts already on the vehicle.
Inspection and repair
We diagnose the fault, show you the part that failed and complete the repair using our own parts.
Final safety check
The door is tested for balance, the motor force is reset and the safety reverse is proved before we leave.
Garage door repair and servicing questions
How often should my garage door be serviced?
Once a year. That is the interval the spring life is based on. Serviced annually, a set of springs lasts up to ten years. Skip it and the springs, cables and rollers all wear faster.
How long does a service take?
A general service on a standard door is a single visit. A repair that needs a part we do not carry on the vehicle may need a second visit, and the branch will tell you that on the day rather than afterwards.
Do you repair doors you did not install?
Yes. We repair and service every make of garage door, including older wooden doors that we no longer manufacture. Our own parts fit most sectional doors on the road.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Call your nearest branch and they will tell you what they can do that day. Response depends on where you are relative to the branch, so the honest answer comes from them rather than from this page.
Can you repair my garage door motor?
Yes. We service and repair motors, including replacing a failed battery backup. Where a motor is past repair we fit the Eazy Lift Mark II, our own sectional motor, and its universal receiver means your existing remotes can be programmed in.
Why do you replace both springs when only one broke?
Because the pair has shared the same load for the same number of cycles. Replacing one leaves you with a new spring next to a worn one and a second call-out a few months later. The same applies to cables. Detail on the parts themselves is on the spare parts pages.
What makes garage door springs break early?
Extreme temperature swings, and doors that go years without a service. Neither is unusual in South Africa. Our climate is hard on exposed doors, and daily use does the rest.
Which garage door brands do you service?
All major brands, sectional and roller. We stock our own springs, cables, rollers, hinges, tracks, remotes and motors, so most repairs are completed on the first visit.
